Over the last two years, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research (ANACEC) has developed a constructive partnership with EAOKO - the Eurasian Association for Educational Assessment.

In particular, accepting the invitation from EAOKO, Mrs. Elena Petrov, the vice president of ANACEC contributed to the monograph “Evaluation of the quality of education in the context of distance learning: the experience of the pandemic with the school systems of the post-Soviet countries” («Оценка качества образования в условиях дистанционного обучения: опыт проживания пандемии системами школьного образования стран постсоветского пространства" - https://eaoko.org/upload/library/21_Distance_WEB.pdf), a process coordinated by EAOKO and the World Bank.

The recently published monograph contains the experience of post-Soviet countries, which is presented in comparison with the wider international experience of living in pandemic conditions and organizing the evaluation of quality in education in the context of mass distance education. Thus, co-opted experts from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Tajikistan described the response of national quality evaluation systems in education to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and made public their individual solutions, identified at the national level in response to the common problem, and good practices that have demonstrated their effectiveness and universality in the context of distance learning.

In the second section, entitled “Experience from different countries: the problem is common – solutions are individual” (“Опыт разных стран: проблема общая — решения индивидуальные”), the author, in the article “Moldova: The system of external evaluation of the quality of education in the context of the pandemic” ("Молдова: Система внешней оценки качества образования в условиях пандемии") (p. 78-92), described the Moldovan experience in organizing external quality evaluation during the pandemic, focusing on achievements and challenges of the national education system.

The article presented is valuable for the whole educational community and in particular for researchers of national education systems, as well as decision-makers for overcoming the consequences of the pandemic on education and other potential emergencies of a global nature.
